Week ending June 18th

How are you-all doing? I have slowed down a bit from the pace seen on the last few posts. Thanks for the emails and comment on this thread. Being a musician is very different than most think. This past week has been all business and very little playing. It was also marked be some life stuff since my baby turned 7 this past week and we had some family stuff to enjoy.

The Gospel Truth Revisited is done and out. What that means to a record label or independent artist like myself is the world needs to know about it. I got a few new web pages up on the gregvail.com site first. I then needed to rework the Gospel CD section of the web site and make Gospel CDs a category with the different CDs that fit being sub-categories. I did the research and went through the emails to get a radio and review list finished and sent CDs all over the world. I emailed everyone I could about it and have been doing follow up since. I started the accounting stuff and have been trying to stay up on sales and shipments. Now I am getting feedback from all the activity and have been filing it for promo purposes once everything is ready to post. We have a conference at Saddleback coming next week and I have been thinking thru the sales and marketing to be ready for a best case scenario. Everything I can think to do is done for now.

It never really ends. There is always more on the list.

The web stuff is going great! I re-did the Sax By soundclips on GregVail.com and got them posted and it took the better part of 3 days to get 40 tunes sampled, edited and posted.

Other than that, this week has been more about looking for work. With Thursdays ending and another club deciding Jazz was not for them, I am out and looking.

That's it for now. Off to bed. Thanks for dropping in to a day in the life.
