Smooth Jazz Classics

Hello web land! Greg Vail here with a quick update on the new CD.

We have about half the songs in the done folder now and will be working on a few finishing touches thru the middle of next week. Percussion is needed on 3 songs that had midi percussion and those parts will be replaced first part of next week. The Guitar for one track is almost done but Blake Aaron became a Dad for the first time 3 days ago and he is not expected to be delivering the finished tracks anytime soon now since life has him on a more important task - Getting new mommy and baby settled in. Pretty exciting for him and we are all very glad to hear everything went great and he has a healthy little girl and mommy now at his house as of today. Pretty cool!

Next on the list is trying to get Grant Geissman to play on a classic track he did 20+ years ago - Feels So Good. Hope that gets worked out this week. Grant makes it a nice Guitar player disc with Gannon Arnold, David Pack, and Blake Aaron featured on different tracks so far.

Bass is all Melvin Davis and Tony Guerrero on a few synth bass parts. Melvin really sounds great on this stuff!

Percussion will be Julio Figaroa. Julio is real big in the Latin world, playing with the biggest names in Mexico and South America.

What's left to do is getting smaller and smaller. A few weeks ago the list was really long. I have to make decisions on mixing and mastering pretty quick because we are ready to start mixing the finished tracks now and I have to know who I'm sending them to.

I hope to have it done tracking in the next week or so, and mixed and mastered by the end of the year. Budget stuff is killing me right now because it is so hard to keep costs down while trying to deliver a quality product. It looks like I will be over at least a thousand dollars and it could be 2 grand over once it is all done. Pray for me so I can make the right calls to get the best product for the best price overall!
