PEARLS and WISDOM 3
Hey Blog land! Was reading some really great stuff today and passing some
of it along right now.
Hope you-all are doing well, in spite of the weather, financial uncertainty or political unrest.
Hope you-all are doing well, in spite of the weather, financial uncertainty or political unrest.
Bruce Springteen is quoted as saying, "A time comes when you need to stop
waiting for the man you want to become and start being the man you want to be."
George Bernard Shaw once said, "As long as I have want, I have a reason for
living. Satisfaction is death."
I believe that the key is to be aware and growing. I have many desires in
life, one of the greatest of these to grow up into the man I can be. It feels
like a ridiculous impossibility, but I did read recently that an hour of walking
a day, would in 5 years circumference the globe. I have set my self to a 5 year
goal of an hour a day, in hopes that this journey might move me more towards the
man I desire to be.
It makes sense to break down goals into bit size pieces. I once heard
someone say, "To eat an elephant, you must start one leg at a time." Growth is a
choice and requires action. No action = no growth.
I'll end today's thoughts with a new favorite quote.
Take away the cause, and the effect ceases."
- Miguel de Cervantes
Blessings today as we all aspire to be our very best; may we continue to
take steps to this cause.

Greg,
You never cease to amaze me! Not just with your talent, but also your insight.
A few years ago, I made the same decision to become the best I can be for several reasons, because I knew that if I continued on the path I was on, I wouldnt be here much longer. I was very sick, partly because of my doing and partly because of health issues I had little control over. I sought out the best doctor I could find and began work on a long journey to get better physically so I can do the things God wants me to do. Two years and 100lbs later, I am achieving that goal. Now that I am physically better, I am able to do the work I was put here on earth to do. Namely, my relationships with others amd helping those who are in the same situation I was in. It took a miracle and once again, God came through!
Like you, I started out walking one hour a day. I am now running a few miles a day. I am able work in my chosen field. I am blessed to be given the chance to do this! All the glory goes to God. He saved my life! The physical is tied to the mental and emotional. They are all equally important and lead to the best we can be!
Now, I will end this with one of my favorite quotes: "Reach for the moon, because even if you fall a little short, you will still land among the stars". Author unknown
Blessings on your journey!
