DC Day 1-3
OK - I get in a awesome Hotel and have to check it all out - Gaylord DC is pretty amazing, but I thing the Nashville Gaylord is cooler.
Of course I am here for work - so what is going on in DC and do y'all even know what Chick-Fil-A is??
I am in our Nations Capitol with my band from Saddleback Church (Rick Muchow and team) and Chick-Fil-A is doing the yearly seminar/conference thing. I have worked many times with these folks over the years - think this is my 5th conference but not sure.
We flew in Saturday and got in late - time change helping coming from LA to DC -
We took the shuttle straight to the convention center and had our first rehearsal the minute we got in!
We later found our rooms and got to sleep.
Sunday was a regional DC employees party thing - we had lots of fun with a crazy - younger group and got off about 3. I - being the odd loaner - took off hicking about the National Harbor that the Gaylord is housed. GRabbed my Camera and Video stuff and headed for the Potomac River!
OK! The hotel is right off the river, BUT I did decide to hick up and off hotel property to an area that is restricted and I am sure I wasnot supposed to be there. Sunset was beautiful and birds everywhere! Large bay area, even tough they callit a river, and snow everywhere. It was a breathtaking night of beauty - all captured to every little thing I could find in my bag!!
FInally was FREEZING and the sun was almost gone - so I came in to clean up for a great concert.
Israel Houghton and New Breed put on an amazing show -- AND -- they had the Spirit moving in that place! Awesome Music -- Awesome Ministry - AWESOME NIGHT!! Yes I took 100 or more pics and left a huge Israel Fan!!
Monday AM was the official start to the conference and we had a 615 call time - East Coast Time - and yes we are all WEST COASTERS! We did it,and had a great morning. Got off to hit the National Mall in the afternoon and we HIT IT!! WOW!
We started off all together - Areo-Space Museum - then Capitol Building. We started back down the street and I bailed from the group at the Art Museum - REALLY wanted to see the Lincoln Memorial and knew it was far enough it was not on the map at all!
to be continued.....
