The video looks at "How we do Church" - the formula - the transitions - the music - the welcome and message................



First off - I loved this when it was first shared with me - musicians - all church guys - at a gig - laughing our RAFL-LOL off as we saw someone do the unthinkable - Give a mindlessly repeating formula out to the masses.

The question is - WHAT IS THE STATEMENT?????
I think it is funny and I think it is not.......

WELL - No real comments on the blog here for this one so I will update the post with my personal thoughts. (There was a lot of input on Face Book though....)

I love this video! I think it quietly asks some really good questions and makes one huge statement! The questions are - Why? Why do we do what we do? What are our intentions? Are we just following the big boys? Are we thinking this thru? Just because ABC is doing it, is it good for us?? Have we got too caught up in the method? Are we still message based? What is our message? Does our method blur our message? I think every church needs to ask themselves these types of questions to stay on course. The day we look back and realize we were just following the masses without searching the heart is the day we realize we lost.

THE HUGE STATEMENT - This IS the method without the message!!!

This is what church looks like without the spirit of God, without truth, with no power whatsoever. The STATEMENT makes one thing VERY CLEAR. Our methods of doing church will never change a life! It can draw bigger numbers but why?? It means nothing in and of itself. THIS VIDEO IS CHURCH WITHOUT GOD. I think it is happening all over the US and we are spreading it to far lands now too. The question then becomes - WWJD?? What Would Jesus Do? Would he spend a million dollars on an HD video screen or 600,000 on a mobile video truck? I don't really know for sure, but one should be praying hard for direction and asking the question.....
